Privacy Policy

Who we are
This policy covers aharoam, run by Gesiyuan Ltd. We are the data controller for any information handled through the app or website. If you have questions about this policy, email us at [email protected].
The short version
We collect as little as possible. The only personal information we ever receive directly is your email address when you buy a pass, which comes from our payment provider, Stripe. Everything else is temporary technical data needed to keep the app running and secure.
What we collect
When you buy a pass
Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares your email address with us so we can send you an activation code. We use it only for that and do not add you to any mailing list.
To run the app
The app creates a random, temporary identifier on your device to help us enforce fair-use limits. It is not tied to your name, email, or hardware, and it resets if you clear the app data.
To make the free-screen allowance reinstall-resistant, the app also derives a pseudonymous device proof from your Android ID using SHA-256 and a fixed app namespace. The raw Android ID is never transmitted, logged, or stored by us; only the one-way proof is sent. The same proof is normally produced after a normal reinstall, so clearing the app’s data does not reset the free allowance. A factory reset, switching Android user or profile, or a change to the app’s signing key or distribution channel can produce a new proof and therefore a new allowance.
When you translate something, the text you select is sent to our translation partner and returned to your device. We do not keep a copy.
Our hosting and security systems also process standard technical information such as your IP address and the time of each request. This is necessary to operate and protect the service.
If device-integrity checks are enabled, the app may also send a Google Play Integrity token so we can verify that a request comes from a genuine app installation.
What we do not collect
We do not require an account. We do not collect your name, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifier. The app contains no analytics or advertising tools.
How we use your data
- To provide translations
- To enforce fair-use limits
- To deliver your purchase and activation code
- To keep the service secure and running
Who we share data with
We work with a small number of service providers: our translation partner, Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Cloudflare (hosting and security). They only process data to provide their specific service to us, and we have appropriate agreements in place with them.
Where your data is processed
Your data is processed on servers in Singapore and may also be processed outside Singapore by our service providers. By using the app, you consent to this. Where data goes outside the UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions to protect it.
How long we keep your data
- Translation text: We do not keep it. It is sent, translated, and returned to you with no copy stored on our side.
- Temporary identifiers: While the app is installed, or until you delete your data.
- Purchase records: As long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes.
- Technical logs: Kept only for as long as needed to keep the service secure and running.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you
- Correct any mistakes
- Delete your data
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Withdraw consent
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk
Deleting your data
You can delete your data from within the app by going to Settings and tapping Delete my data. This removes everything we hold for your device. You can also contact us directly if you no longer have the app installed.
Because the abuse-prevention quota is keyed to the pseudonymous device proof rather than the installation identifier, that quota record is kept after a data deletion. This is what prevents someone from repeatedly deleting data to reset the free allowance. The record contains only counts and timestamps, not the text you translated or any way to link it back to you personally.
Security
Data is encrypted when it travels between the app and our servers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our practices change. The latest version will always be available on this page.
